Time to retire again
As I posted last summer, my doctor in New York told me not to play softball anymore but my doctor in Florida gave me permission. Unfortunately, my Florida doctor was wrong. I came back for the second half. and didn’t really play well at all. Plus The pain in my back after playing a game is excruciating, so I think it’s time to hang up my cleats for good. I had a great time playing for the past 12 years and met and played with a lot of good guys. I will miss that so much but I really don’t have a choice. I would like to give special thanks to the player Committee and especially Artie for letting letting me come back after I took the first half of the season off, but I just wasn’t the same as I used to be thank you all for letting me be part of a great organization, and I hope it continues. I will miss playing ball and especially all you guys, but have a great summer and a great season next year. Thanks again, Ross.

WHACS old timer
I ran into Tom Bennel yesterday. He was doing remarkably well and was jovial as always. He asked about the league and told me to pass along a big Hello to all our players and families. Tom said he had a close call with serious heart attack week before last but the doctors performed miracles and several stents later he felt fit as a fiddle. To be honest he looked great. Just wanted to pass this along to everyone

To my brothers in arms
Morning. This AM I sent a message to the Board Members announcing my difficult decision to resign from the incoming Board. This was done with extreme apprehension and some guilt. Those who voted for me and even those who didn’t have an expectation of accountability and accomplishment. My wife’s health has recently turned in a worsening direction and I could not possibly serve both the league and her. I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever return to the league however the friendships I made will last a lifetime. I loved and respected each and every one of you. I tried with some difficulty to compete without crossing the line and if I ever did with anyone I apologize. Love and care for each other that’s far more important than any game. I won’t go into names as far as whose influence I felt the most but I personally want to thank Artie for speaking to me about the proper way to act on field. While on the Board I was happy to discuss Aritie’s methods and agree that they were in fact different but to question his love and loyalty for WHACS is not somewhere I wanted or needed to go. Stay safe guys and let’s show the world why they called us the great generation. See you guys either on this side or the other.

Summer League
From what I hear, there is only 17 people wanting to play in the summer league.Normally there is enough for 4 teams.I think that we should play the summer even if we only get 9 players for each team. The summer league doesn't count but it would be alot better than having batting practice where there is 20 guys in the outfield and 10 in the infield and you standing at the plate hitting 15 balls.Just my thought. Cost of League
I figured out for $100, a player can play in the league for only $1.75 a game. What better deal is that. What ever the costs are its worth the $100 cost. Also it would be nice to see a Players name to message that was sent.

Playoff Brackets
Joe Fortune - you are correct…..the brackets need to be modified: Winners bracket 1) 3 (H) vs 6 (V) 2). 4 (H) vs 5 (V) 3) 1 (H) vs 3/6 winner 4). 2 (H) vs 4/5 winner Losers bracket Games 5 & 6

Playoff Brackets
The brackets are listed incorrectly. Team 3 should play team 6, and team 4 should play team 5. It’s always highest seed gets lowest seed.
