Compromises
No manager should ever compromise with a player that wants to be traded. The logic of such behavior stuns the imagination. Each compromise brings and endless aray of more such deals when word spreads. Trade me or I’ll drop the next fly ball, trade me or I won’t hustle, trade me or I won’t help set up the field, trade me or I’ll pour soda in commissioners gas tank. It’s never about the survival of an individual or even a team, it’s about the survival of the collective unit. If an individual approaches a manager and wants to be traded, it’s Thank you for playing, not let’s fix it so you’re happy. It’s Softball not therapy. Any manager who succumbs to such behavior is worried about his team and the individual not the collective unit. Do not set precedents which hurt the league but enhance you.
positions
I understand that we all like to play a position that we are comfortable with. The issue with that is it makes you less desirable than a player that is versed with multiple positions. In my opinion, take the different position and get good at it.That gives you better chance to play full games and be asked to sub. Instead of threatening the manager, simply ask if you can get a couple of inning occasionally in your old position, to keep in form. Remember, catchers ,right field make as much as the shortstop , pitcher, manager. Try to be good at whatever position you play. It'll benefit you in the long run. You will become a better player. Make your name ,a name to be sought for in the draft.
Position reply
Responding to "Positions", great response to complainers. Be lucky you have a senior league you can play in.

Ticket sales ($38 per person) for our Annual Day at the Races @ Tampa Downs will begin on Monday, January 6th. Checks (only) are to be made payable to WHACS.
As in the past, we are limited to 50 tickets. Although a lot of you have expressed initial interest, it is still a "1st come (check in hand),1st served" event - get with me as soon as you can.
Thanks for your participation and Happy New Year to all!
POSITIONS
Gentlemen, can we please stop with all BS regarding what position you play. Telling your manager you will only play a certain position or you will demand a trade is ridiculous. Your application says to name 3 positions that you could play NOT that you only will play. Let these managers do what they signed up for. We should be grateful that we have people interested in doing such a thankless job. Come on guys let’s not handcuff our managers just because you are being selfish. If you want to guarantee your position become a manager.
Christmas Party to close to Christmas
I recommend that the League Christmas Party be scheduled in early December instead of close to Christmas when people have families coming in or they are traveling.
People are also more likely to have the money to pay for the party at the beginning of the month instead of close to Christmas.
Response to Rick Beltram for 70's team
Rick,
I already gave you all of my information earlier this year and i told you I turn 70 at the end of this month but I never heard back from you after I told you I was interested this past year.
I have played all outfield positions successfully through most of my playing years but can play 2nd or 1st, if needed. I play my best in the field by consistently being in one position as this helps me gauge the batters and where they hit. I have decent speed still as you can ask anyone in the WHAC's league that has consistently seen me play. I always show up if I say I will.

Looking for Players 69 and over!
Hey guys, the Outlaws 70+ Florida Half Century team is looking for a couple of more players that will turn 70 next yr. or are already that, and older that would like to play some Senior tournaments. Doug Bell is the team manager and a super guy that wants players that just want to play and have some fun while we still can lol. I've played with a number of the players on the current roster, and can say after playing last season that these are all great guys. And some pretty good ball players too. You can call me to get Doug's number to talk to either of us. Thanks for posting this. And BTW I will be back able to play ball again Feb. 1st. Sincerely, Rick Bertram
Game temperature
What temperature is it to cold to play?
Infighting and derogatory comments have to stop
This game is a great game and we are privileged to be able to play it . The auguring and comments among players need to stop. Coached being disrespectful of players and allowing others to be disrespectful of other who may have made an error or had a senior moment need to stop. It becomes not fun anymore and affects everyone's game.
