John Barroncini was born in Brooklyn, NY. Enjoyed playing sports in his youth. He attended NYU and was on the school’s Swimming/Diving and baseball teams. He received a master’s degree in Physical Education. He taught physical education and health in an intermediate school located in the Bronx for the New York City Board of Educationfor 28 years. He married Marjorie Davies on September, 1962, started a family and lived happily for 49 years. During this time, he coached swimming and diving as well as other sports for local youth leagues.
After retiring from the Board of Education, John moved to Spring Hill, Fl in 1989 where he played senior softball with the Hernando county league , Traveling team and later Anderson Snow Senior league. John often played golf with several of the ball players.
In Nov 2017, John’s health decline from several medical procedures requiring nursing and eventually being place In a home.
Monday June 15 , 20202 John passed peacefully with his family beside him at Madison of Ocoee. He is survived by his three sons, Glen from Hilton Head, SC; Keith and his wife Andrea from Orlando, Fl; and Jason and his daughter Joanie from South Florida. He was 87 years of age.
He touched so many lives and he will be missed. John left this world a better place than when he arrived. A memorial service will be held And John will be placed to rest beside his wife sometime in Sept 2020 at St Andrews Church and Memorial Garden in Spring Hill. ( date to be determined).
The family is so grateful and honored that Dad, John Barroncini touched so many lives and we know he’s above watching over all of us.
