How to propose changes to the By-Laws
The BOD will entertain any changes to the by-laws by WHACS members. The proposed changes should cite the by-law as it exists followed by the proposed change. The following is a proposal submitted which can be used as an example.
Propsed change to by-laws:
Article III - Membership
Section 1: Membership dues shall be such an amount as determined by the membership, prior to the beginning of each fiscal year. Dues must be paid by June 30 in order to vote. Membership must be renewed annually.
Proposed change:
Section 1: Membership dues shall consist of two categories: 1) Non sport participant and 2) Sport Participant. Membership dues shall be such an amount as detemined by the membership, prior to the beginning of each fiscal year. Dues must be paid by June 30 in order to vote. Membership must be renewed annually.
This change is being proposed because of the inequity between those individuals who want to be just WHACS members and those that participate in sports i.e. softball.

BY-LAWS OF THE WEST HERNANDO ATHLETIC CLUB FOR SENIORS,INC. ARTICLE VII- ORGANIZED SPORTS, SECTION 3: SOFTBALL.-----B- EVALUATING AND ASSIGNING PLAYERS AND MANAGERS TO TEAMS. PROPOSED CHANGE: EVALUATING AND ASSIGNING PLAYERS AND MANAGERS TO TEAMS, EXCEPT IF THIER ARE MORE MANAGERS AVAILABLE THAN THIER ARE TEAMS THEN THE MEMBERSHIP WILL VOTE THE MANAGERS IN , NOT THE COMMISSIONER. MEMBERS WILLING TO BE MANAGERS WILL LIST THIER NAMES ALONG WITH MEMBERS RUNNING FOR OFFICE. ANY MEMBER NOT WILLING TO PLAY FOR A LISTED MANAGER SHALL NOTIFY THE BOARD IN WRITING BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS.

Second proposed change: Change the by-laws everywhere softball is mentioned in that the word softball be preceded by the word "Men's".
Section 2: Revocation of Membership. Any member may have their membership revoked for just cause by a majority vote of the WHACS membership. The process for revoking membership is specified in ARTICLE IV, Section 5.

Also: No pick-up players in post season and Dues have been increased from $50 to $60- for next season to cover County field usage fees.
